Foam and Paris Photo present a brand-new series of Foam Talks, this time featured around the latest issue of Foam Magazine M/OTHERLANDS. The topic or guiding question will be the political power of images. How do they shape not only our understanding but also our opinion of the world?

Personal experiences, anger and pain are the basis of a special project in which refugees share ​personal photos and stories via Instagram about their daily life in Moria, the largest refugee camp in Europe, located in Greece.

The final episode of our mini-series 'Stories of Migration' will focus on Now You See Me Moria, a cross-national collective consisting of Noemí, Amir, Qutaeba, Ali, Mustafa ​and others who continue to join. Claartje van Dijk, head of exhibitions ​at Foam, will speak with Noemi, ​the Amsterdam-based photo editor ​and leading force behind Now You See Me Moria, to give an insight into the collective's work and mission.

Personal experiences, anger and pain are the basis of a special project in which refugees share ​personal photos and stories via Instagram about their daily life in Moria, the largest refugee camp in Europe, located in Greece. In August 2020 Amir, a refugee living in Moria and Noemí, ​started their collaboration by setting up the Instagram account now_you_see_me_moria and publish pictures of life at the camp. Since then, Now You See Me ​Moria got the attention of various media outlets, individuals and organizations across Europe. Today the account has a following of more than 30,000 people. More importantly: a growing number of followers have started collaborations with the​ collective. From a small ​collaboration Now You See Me Moria has become a civil rights movement demanding fundamental change to European migration policy.

Stories of Migration with Now You See Me Moria

Foam produced this episode as part of a mini-series called Stories of Migration. In this series, we welcome three artists whose work evolves around questions of migration, identity and belonging.

The seventh episode of Foam Talks features Foam Talent Daniel Garcia Castro in conversation with Edmund Clark, who works as an artist and lecturer. The starting point of this episode is his project I Peri N'Tera which tracks the movements of 12 underage refugees, whom he met at a reception center for male unaccompanied minors in rural Sicily, Italy. Daniel Castro Garcia subtracts the images from the purely photojournalistic realm and offers a point of entry to a spiritual space of inner struggle and the slow and often faltering process of emotional healing.

On Thursday, 15 May, Foam Editions is hosting the celebratory launch of 

, Jackie Mulder's first artist book. The book reflects on the possibilities of healing pathways and our essential relation with landscape and the natural world. Imagined as a possible trail unfolding through the pages, the sequence and treatment of the images invite the viewer to step into another world, be amazed, and make their own story.

During the evening, curator, editor, and writer 

will open the programme with a few words, followed by a Q&A between Foam Editions gallery manager Lotte Klösters and the artist, 

 they will discuss the making of the book and the content of her work.

PLAY!&nbsp;investigates the powers at play in our society and its subversive, irreverent potential. It looks at its healing powers, the relief that comes from unlocking energy, creativity, and unexpected ghosts.

In conjunction with the exhibition <a href="/museum/programme/foam-talent-new-york">Foam Talent</a>, on view in New York from 22 March until 10 April, Foam is organising an afternoon of <a href="#programme">talks</a> at Red Hook Labs on Saturday 23 March.
Each year, <a href="/beheer/talentcall.foam.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Foam Talent Call</a> attracts over 1800 artistic projects. After reviewing all the tremendously diverse portfolios, the editors manage to select 20 entries that contain the most striking images. When examined closer, recurring themes begin to emerge amongst the bodies of work. The panel discussions will be followed by the inaugural Labs Slide Slam, a presentation of work received via an open call for young photographers without agency and gallery representation. This is an opportunity for artists to have their work seen by an international community of editors and curators. &nbsp;
