Come to Foam for a tour of the exhibition Structures of Identity - Photography from The Walther Collection.

<a href="/museum/programme/structures-of-identity">Structures of Identity</a> shows how photographers from different periods and diverse cultures have used the power of the portrait to confirm or, indeed, critically investigate stereotypical ideas about gender, race, status and nationality. The exhibition, featuring works form the&nbsp;renowned Walther Collection, includes iconic portraits by photographers including August Sander, Richard Avedon and J.D. Ojeikere combined with the work of contemporary photographers like Yto Barrada, Samuel Fosso, Zanele Muholi and Guy Tillim.
This tour is especially organised for Museumkaart holders and takes place on Saturdays in July (14, 21 and 28) and August (11, 18 and 25) at 11am. Limited spots are available so please <a href="/book-a-visit/public/guided-tour-structures-of-identity">book here</a> in advance.
The exhibition is a collaboration between The Walther Collection, Neu-Ulm (Germany) and New York (US), and Foam. Foam is supported by BankGiro Loterij, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Gemeente Amsterdam, Olympus and the VandenEnde Foundation.

The exhibition focuses on the relationship between self-image and social identity as captured by means of photography. Iconic works by photographers including August Sander, Richard Avedon and J.D. Ojeikere are combined with the work of contemporary photographers like Yto Barrada, Samuel Fosso, Zanele Muholi and Guy Tillim. There are also remarkable historical photos by unknown photographers.
The exhibition is a collaboration between The Walther Collection, Neu-Ulm (Germany) and New York (US), and Foam.

Foam is proud to present the exhibition Foam 3h: Stelios Kallinikou - Studies in Geology. A sense of continual exploration of national identity typifies the body of work of Cypriot photographer Stelios Kallinikou (Limassol, 1985), who creates magical and beautiful images that are deeply rooted in the Cypriot landscape. The landscape, as a result of our collective action, becomes a vehicle for his thoughts on place, history, time and space &ndash;all fundamental issues related to human nature.
This exhibition is made possible with support of the Gieskes-Strijbis Fund and the Van Bijlevelt Foundation.
This exhibition is on view from 29 June until 2 September 2018.

Enjoy a special viewing of the exhibition Structures of Identity - Photography from The Walther Collection outside of regular museum hours.

Explore the works from The Walther Collection by Richard Avedon, August Sander and many more undisturbed for hours on end. On the last evening before the exhibition closes, Foam opens the doors for a last chance to visit and complimentary guided tours.

Foam presents two new exhibitions end of June:&nbsp;Structures of Identity &ndash; Photography from The Walther Collection&nbsp;and Stelios Kallinikou (1985, Cyprus) is exhibiting his work at Foam 3h.&nbsp;
The day before the official opening two guests will accompany the preview: collector Artur Walther will speak about his collection and Stelios is present for a meet and greet. Both exhibitions are there to explore&nbsp;undisturbed for hours.&nbsp;

, the first solo exhibition by artist Jasmijn Vermeeren. From a deeply personal perspective, Vermeeren sheds light on living with an invisible disability. In conversations about diversity and inclusion within society, the position of people with hidden mental and/or physical disabilities often remains underexposed. 

 offers an intimate experience, inviting visitors to step into the everyday reality of those for whom this life is the norm.

Through photography, video, and sculptural work, Vermeeren reflects on her own encounters with chronic pain and societal assumptions surrounding health and identity. Idenitifying as 

: a term encompassing various forms of disability, including physical, mental, sensory and learning differences, Vermeeren challenges conventional ideas of functionality and normality.
