5 reasons to visit Foam over the Spring Holiday:
THESE ARE OUR NEW EXHIBITIONS
Come and see the impressive portraits made by Seydou Keïta in the exhibition Bamako Portraits. In this exhibition, you can see studio photos in which the people of Mali made themselves as beautiful as possible over the course of the 50s and 60s. More historical imagery is on display in the exhibition Gold and Silver, where you can see photos from the American gold rush. A more contemporary approach to photography is on view in the exhibition Artist’s Proof, where Daniëlle van Ark raises questions about the valuation and authenticity of the medium of photography. Get lost in the myths and stories behind the exhibition Foam 3h: Tereza Zelenkova – A Snake That Disappeared Through a Hole in the Wall.
CHILDREN'S WORKSHOP | 2 May 2018, 1.00 - 4.00pm
Are you between 8 and 12 years old and do you want to learn more about photography? Sign now up for the children’s workshop. Go through the exhibition of Danielle van Ark and learn in an interactive way more about her work and the photographic medium. You will leave this workshop as an even better photographer and with a print of your favourite photo to take home with you.
Portrait yourself in a black and white photo and pose with objects that reflects your personality. Make use of a bicycle, radio, clothes with African prints, etc. Think everything through, your background, light and composition. With this method you will create a photo just like a photo of Seydou Keïta so you can show off your work just like the people from Mali.
With this colourful camera in their hands, kids are instantly morphed into masters of photography or ''FotoBaas.'' The FotoBaas camera is especially designed for children ages 4 through 10 to learn more about photography concepts in a fun and playful way. The camera and book are available at the entrance of Foam.
Are you hungry or thirsty after your visit? No worries, Foam Café is open during the Spring Holiday. Foam Café is the perfect place to end your day with a drink and something to eat.
