Symposium: Look Twice
Foam is organising a symposium in the OBA with the theme Look Twice: Towards an Age-Friendly Cultural City.

Allow yourself to be inspired by (international) examples of intergenerational projects and build on your knowledge of how to work effectively with various partners from different generations at the municipal level, as well as at that of the city district.

During the symposium, Foam will share its experiences of working in the neighborhood with young and old, presenting the intergenerational photography project, Look Twice. We will discuss our methodology and the results of our research before outlining how we intend to sustain Look Twice via a new project: Amsterdam Vertelt. This is an exciting intergenerational project led by Foam and Amsterdam’s Central Public Library, the OBA, where several local residents are already working together to create their story of Amsterdam in words and images.

Other contributors to the symposium are Susan Langford (UK, MagicMe), Kees Penninx (Generatielab, ActivAge) and a number of former participants of Look Twice. Deputy-major and alderman of Cultural Affairs of Amsterdam Kajsa Ollongren will officially open the symposium.

The event takes place at the OBA’s central location from 14:00 - 17:00 hrs., with drinks afterwards.

Please note: The entire programme is in Dutch, apart from the talk by Susan Langford

The symposium is organized by Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam in cooperation with the City of Amsterdam and OBA.

The symposium is made possible by the support of Rabobank Amsterdam, The Cultural Participation Fund, the Leeuwenstein Foundation, the M.A.O.C. Countess of Bylandt Foundation, the VSB Foundation and the City of Amsterdam.
