Walk-in workshop
Martin Parr

Every other Sunday afternoon, Foam offers free walk-in workshops inspired by Martin Parr’s exhibition Very Modern and Rather Ugly. Martin Parr is a British photographer known for his bold colours, sharp humour, and distinctive way of capturing everyday life, turning ordinary moments into striking and often ironic images of modern society.

In this workshop, you will create your own personal postcard, inspired by Parr’s unique perspective. Discover his way of seeing and experience photography in a fun and creative way.

About the workshop

This walk-in workshop is inspired by Martin Parr’s Autoportrait Series (2002), in which he brings together three decades of portraits taken in photo booths, studios, and on the street around the world, through which he sought to highlight the many different shapes, forms and traditions of global portrait photography.

In the workshop, visitors create a humorous photograph that becomes a postcard. Using the exhibition space, participants stage their own image with a playful twist. The photo is printed as a postcard. Participants can add a personal message and take it home as a unique souvenir. The workshop is suitable for all ages.
