Book presentation
Annegien van Doorn Biophilia

Photographer and visual artist Annegien van Doorn had a solo exhibition at Foam 3h in 2014, in which her fascination for banal and normal situations was apparent. On 12 February, she will present her new book Biophilia, which is about our twisted relationship with nature. During the presentation, she will be interviewed by photographer Jan Dirk van der Burg.

Donated via Voordekunst? You are welcome to pick up your book at Foam Editions during the day. Annegien van Doorn will be present in the gallery from 12.00 to 18.00 hrs to sign her book. Donors who can show their proof of donation at the entrance receive free entry to the museum. Sign-ups are only necessary if you want to attend the book presentation between 16.00 and 17.00 hrs.

About the book

“Nature or natural elements in our environment contribute to both our mental and physical well-being. In fact, one tree, one plant or even a picture of a tree can already have a positive effect.
That sounds very nice, of course, but in my view there is also a danger: won't we get further and further away from nature if we can meet our primal needs with a photo print of a waterfall or a cactus-shaped lamp?” - Annegien van Doorn.
