Sunset may well be one of the most photographed moments ever. The changing colours of the sky, from bright orange to gentle hues of purple when the sun has almost slipped behind the horizon, are admired and recorded by countless people around the world, every day again. What do the colours of a sunset arouse in you?

Sun Set Series presents a new perspective on the cliché image of a sunset within the world of photography. It consists of a series of images in which artist Fleur van Dodewaard repeatedly shows the different colours created by a sunset in the reflection of a circle-shaped mirror. The result is an abstract and minimalist interpretation of a setting sun, as demonstrated by #5.

Apart from presenting her work in the group exhibitions Foam Talent 2011 and Still/Life, the Sun Set Series was also included in Foam Magazine #28 Talent. In an interview Van Dodewaard describes how this series came to be.
