As Foam marks its 25th anniversary, founder and former director Marloes Krijnen and current director Karin van Gilst reflect on Foam’s past and present, looking ahead to the future of photography.

From first opening as a photography museum to becoming a multi-touch experience across physical, print, and digital spaces, Foam has consistently been a platform for dialogue, discovery, and connection. Photography is a lens through which we understand the world, past and present.


In the interview below, founder and former director Marloes Krijnen and current director Karin van Gilst share their thoughts on Foam’s evolution and photography's role in an ever-changing cultural, social, and technological landscape.
