Pride Photo Award
This summer, Foam presents the highlights of five years Pride Photo Award in a special exhibition in the Foam Café.

This annual, international competition for photography about sexual- and gender diversity makes people think about the stereotype images of masculinity and femininity. With photographs showing the diversity of the LGBT communities, they counterbalance the often one-sided images of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans genders (LGBT’s) in the media. The quality of the photographs is high and a lot of the participants are young photographers who consider (sexual and gender) identity an important, often personal, subject. Every year, a panel of judges consisting of photography experts with a strong international reputation is selecting the winners.

THE BEST OF FIVE EDITIONS
In 2015, the photography competition is being held for the fifth time. This is being celebrated during the Amsterdam Gay Pride: highlights of previous editions are being shown in two places: in the Foam Café from 31 July until 19 August and in the Melkweg Galerie from 10 July until 26 August.

PRIDE PHOTO AWARD 2015
From mid-September until the end of October, the winning photographs from 2015 are on show in the Oude Kerk. Also, a selection of these photographs will be shown outdoors, on well visited squares throughout the city.

Pride Photo Award is an initiative from the COC Amsterdam, IHLIA LGBT Heritage and Stichting Homomonument, with support and advise from Foam and World Press Photo.
