First Editions | Vytautas Kumza
Foam Editions will celebrate the work of Vytautas Kumža on Friday evening August 23.

During this event Foam curator Mirjam Kooiman will host a Q&A with Vytautas on his work. His set of First Editions, two photographic works that are part of his series Half Empty Half Full (2019), is for sale at Foam Editions.

In the work of the Lithuanian-born, Amsterdam-based photographer Vytautas Kumža (1992), the construction behind the image is not smoothened away but becomes an integral part of the composition. Unintended “mistakes” turn out to become defining elements of his works, and theatre set constructions, mirrors and cut-outs play with our perception – his photographs seem to behold more than one image. Behind the glossy surface of the photograph, Kumža invites us to decipher his playful collages, that are in fact shaped through many different techniques and materials. These two photos are exclusively for sale at Foam Editions until 8 September 2019. Don't miss out on the chance to get your First Edition!
