Workshop: Broersen & Lukács
Get inspired by the visual language of Broersen & Lukács and create your own unique image.

In their work, Broersen & Lukács investigate the relationship between humankind and nature. The duo has made a three-part installation especially for this exhibition, which will be exhibited for the first time together with other renowned works consisting of video footage, installation and graphic work.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop starts with a participatory tour through the exhibition of Broersen & Lukács, during which you will get inspired by the theme and work ethic of the artists. Inspired by this tour, you will then start working on the assignment of the workshop. Through the mindset and work method of the artists you will reflect upon your immediate surroundings. Investigate how, based upon your own experience, humankind relates itself to nature and more specifically the urban environment of the city center of Amsterdam. You will start by making a portrait of a passer-by whilst focusing on the background. Based upon this portrait you will come up with additional sceneries, which you will record as photographs. Together with the portrait, you will create your own analogue visual story, by combining these prints along the work ethic of Broersen & Lukács.

The workshop will finish with showing and discussing each other’s results. That way you learn from each other and you can begin to recognize your own style. All results will be sent to you digitally and of course you can take your analogue work with you.
