Street Photography Workshop
Mounir Raji - Home
Dive into the daily life of Amsterdam-West during a photography workshop at MAQAM, inspired by the exhibition Home by Mounir Raji.
Home is an ode to Amsterdam-West, and above all to the people who bring these neighbourhoods to life. During the workshop you will not only learn the techniques of street photography, but also gain insight into how to capture the essence of a place and its residents, from squares and back gardens to encounters that often go unnoticed yet form the beating heart of the city.
The workshop will be from 13.00 until 17.00 hrs on Sunday 30 November at MAQAM.
About the workshop
Mounir will open the afternoon with a glimpse into his practice as an experienced photographer. With a camera in hand, we will then head outdoors for a photography walk. Under Mounir’s guidance you will observe, connect, capture the everyday and experiment with different perspectives. Afterwards, you’ll select a number of images to print, which you will present and discuss together with the group at MAQAM.
The workshop is open to anyone interested in photography and stories of the city, whether you are a beginner or already experienced. Participants who own a camera are warmly encouraged to bring it along. It is also possible to make use of a loan camera from Foam.
