You might know his famous photography, but what do you really know about this world-famous photographer? By visiting the exhibition by yourself, following a free guided tour or remaking his monumental work, you’ll instantly broaden your general knowledge of renowed photography.
WALK-IN WORKSHOP REMAKE
At the Remake workshop, you and your friends or family can recreate Newton’s iconic photographs. By analysing his compositions you will start to discover the choices Newton made when he created his work. Walk into the pop-up photo studio in the museum, grab a camera and various props and get started. Your best Remake will be printed to take home.

You can lose yourself just by looking at Helmut Newton’s photography, but there is a lot hidden beneath the surface of his photographs. Can you see how he has been influenced by famous filmmakers, or can you tell which works have been published in fashion magazines and which were deemed too risky by the magazine editors? We would like to see how well you do in a quiz about the exhibition. Test your knowledge in a 13-question quiz and compete with the other visitors. The answers will be revealed by one of our colleagues straight after the quiz is completed.
After each quiz round, one participant will be named the winner. The winner of the day receives a Helmut Newton gift package.
Apart from Let's Quiz and the Remake workshop, there will be guided tours through the exhibition in the afternoon. During the tours our experienced educators will tell you all about the power of his photography and what made Helmut Newton such an extraordinary photographer. In about 40 minutes you will visit Newton's monumental photography, his celebrity portraits and his early works.
