Boys Won't Be Boys
The Pictures

In collaboration with Dutch theatre artist Rikkert van Huisstede and Theater Bellevue, Foam presents the project Boys Won't Be Boys - The Pictures.

The project Boys won't Be Boys - The Pictures came about as a result of the theatre performance Boys Won't Be Boys, in which the theme of masculinity is explored in a personal, intimate way. Eight young people between the ages of 15 - 22 years present their perspectives on the theme of masculinity in Theater Bellevue and Restaurant De Smoeshaan until 31 January 2022.

Madelief van der Schoot, 17 jaar

In the project Boys Wont Be Boys - The Pictures, these young artists spoke under the guidance of theatre artist Rikkert van Huisstede and Foams museum teacher Sebastian Mulder about the theme of masculinity and what it means to them. During the process, they viewed work by photographers affiliated with Foam who researched and portrayed this theme. In three workshops, the artists experimented with photographic aspects and made portraits in the Foam Studios. From 26 October, the exhibition opens at Theater Bellevue alongside the show
