In four different Amsterdam neighbourhoods, residents can get to know more about photography and writing: two art forms that are perfect for telling stories.
First up is the Southeast area of Amsterdam, where the public library OBA Reigersbos plays host to several workshops and masterclasses that aim to stimulate new interpersonal connections within the Amsterdam neighbourhoods.
You can see all of the programmes below. All of the programmes are in Dutch.
WORKSHOP: IMAGE AND LANGUAGE
Teenagers (age 12-16) and elderly people (65+) who struggle with the Dutch language can participate in this workshop, where photography is used to learn new words.
WORKSHOP: TELL YOUR STORY
During this workshop you exchange stories with your neighbour and depict their story in words and images. This workshop is meant for teenagers (age 12-16) and the elderly (65+).
MASTERCLASS WRITING
Learn how to write your best story about the area you live in during the Masterclass Writing. This is a two-part masterclass meant for adolescents (age 16-20) and the elderly (65+).
MASTERCLASS PHOTOGRAPHY
Broaden your knowledge of photography with this masterclass led by photographer and Amsterdam Southeast resident Annegien van Doorn. This is a two-part masterclass meant for adolescents (age 16-20) and the elderly (65+).
All of the programmes are free of charge and taught by professional photographers, writers and educators.
