Amsterdam Art Weekend
From 23 until 26 November, Amsterdam Art Weekend is taking over the Dutch capital for four days dedicated to contemporary art.

The sixth edition of Amsterdam Art Weekend features a jam-packed programme with more than 100 events at over 50 different locations around the city. During this weekend, Amsterdam will be entirely dedicated to contemporary art, giving visitors the opportunity to explore and discover the latest visual arts developments.

Foam is participating in the programme with the exhibition Next Level: Anouk Kruithof - ¡Aguas!. The museum commissioned Kruithof to create an entirely new body of work consisting of (photo) sculptures, a video projection and an animation. The works explore the complex relationship of man to nature in a post-internet era. The exhibition is part of the Next Level series, supported by Ammodo, which is aimed at introducing the wider public to innovative art by relatively young artists who are making radical new use of the medium of photography. As part of Amsterdam Art Weekend, a special tour for professionals is taking place on Sunday 25 November with Foam curator Hinde Haest.

Also on view at Foam during Amsterdam Art Weekend is a retrospective of Hungarian-born American photographer André Kertész; the exhibition of young Swiss photographer and winner of the 2017 Foam Paul Huf Award, Romain Mader; and the contradictory images, oscillating between beauty and adversity, of up-and-coming talent Stefanie Moshammer
