Speciaal voor Museumkaarthouders organiseert Foam drie speciale rondleidingen door de tentoonstelling Structures of Identity - Photography from The Walther Collection.

Met de tentoonstelling <a href="/nl/museum/programma/structures-of-identity">Structures of Identity</a> - <a href="/nl/museum/programma/structures-of-identity">Photography from</a> <a href="/nl/museum/programma/structures-of-identity">The Walther Collection</a> presenteert Foam een selectie fotowerken uit de fameuze collectie van de Walther familie. De tentoonstelling laat zien hoe fotografen uit verschillende perioden en diverse culturen de kracht van het portret gebruikten om stereotype idee&euml;n over gender, ras, status en nationaliteit te bevestigen of juist Structures of Identity toont iconisch werk van&nbsp;fotografen als August Sander, Richard Avedon en J.D. Ojeikere maar ook van hedendaagse fotografen als Yto Barrada, Samuel Fosso, Zanele Muholi en Guy Tillim.
Speciaal voor Museumkaarthouders organiseert Foam op zaterdag 14, 21 en 28 juli en 11, 18 en 25 augustus om 11.00 uur een gratis rondleiding door de tentoonstelling. De tentoonstelling is een samenwerking tussen The Walther Collection, Neu-Ulm (Duitsland) en New York (VS) en Foam. Foam wordt ondersteund door de BankGiro Loterij, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Gemeente Amsterdam, Olympus en de VandenEnde Foundation.&nbsp;

Donderdagavond 28 juni is iedereen van harte welkom voor de publieke opening van twee nieuwe tentoonstellingen:

Structures of Identity laat zien hoe fotografen uit verschillende perioden en diverse culturen de kracht van het portret gebruikten om stereotype idee&euml;n over gender, ras, status en nationaliteit te bevestigen of juist kritisch te onderzoeken. In de tentoonstelling ligt de nadruk op de relatie tussen zelfbeeld en sociale identiteit zoals dat door middel van fotografie is vastgelegd. Iconisch werk van fotografen als August Sander, Richard Avedon en J.D. Ojeikere wordt gecombineerd met dat van hedendaagse fotografen als Yto Barrada, Samuel Fosso, Zanele Muholi en Guy Tillim. Daarnaast zijn er uitzonderlijke historische foto&rsquo;s te zien van onbekende makers.
De tentoonstelling is een samenwerking tussen The Walther Collection, Neu-Ulm (Duitsland) en New York (VS) en Foam.

FOAM 3H: STELIOS KALLINIKOU - STUDIES IN GEOLOGY<a href="/museum/programme/stelios-kallinikou"><img src="https://a.storyblok.com/f/113697/595x397/e0bfc90b96/water_composition_1_2017_c_kallinikou.jpg" alt="" width="595" height="397" /></a>Water Composition 1, 2017 &copy; Stelios Kallinikou
Foam presenteert met trots de tentoonstelling Foam 3h: Stelios Kallinikou - Studies in Geology.&nbsp;In zijn werk probeert de Cypriotische fotograaf Stelios Kallinikou (Limassol, 1985) altijd weer het concept van nationale identiteit te ontrafelen. Hij cre&euml;ert prachtige, betoverende beelden die diep geworteld zijn in het landschap van Cyprus. Het landschap, als resultaat van menselijk handelen, vormt het uitgangspunt voor zijn gedachten over plaats, tijd, ruimte en geschiedenis &ndash; fundamentele aspecten voor het menselijk zijn.
Deze tentoonstelling wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door het Gieskes-Strijbis Fonds en de Van Bijleveltstichting.
De tentoonstelling is van 29 juni t/m 2 september 2018 te zien in Foam.

Geniet van een bezoek aan Structures of Identity - Photography from The Walther Collection buiten de reguliere openingstijden van Foam in de laatste week van de tentoonstelling.

Foam verwacht tijdens de laatste dagen nog veel bezoekers en organiseert daarom speciaal voor onze leden Member Hours. De avond voordat de tentoonstelling sluit, kun je de tentoonstelling met werken uit The Artur Walther Collection bekijken en een gratis rondleiding volgen.

Foam presenteert eind juni twee nieuwe tentoonstellingen: Structures of Identity &ndash; Photography from The Walther Collection en in Foam 3h toont Stelios Kallinikou (1985, Cyprus) zijn werk. De dag v&oacute;&oacute;r de offici&euml;le opening zal verzamelaar Artur Walther vertellen over zijn collectie en is Stelios aanwezig voor een ontmoeting en kun je beide nieuwe tentoonstellingen voorafgaand aan de publieke opening bewonderen.

Kids workshop: Quirky Portraits

Duik tijdens de meivakantie in de kleurrijke en humoristische wereld van Martin Parr. Deze workshop is ontwikkeld voor dove en slechthorende kinderen.

De workshop start met een rondleiding door de tentoonstelling 

 van Martin Parr. Onder begeleiding van een gebarentaalvaardige museumdocent ontdekken de kinderen de fotografie van Parr. Na de rondleiding verzamelen de kinderen zich in de leeshoek van de tentoonstelling, waar zij in gebarentaal hun eigen observaties delen en met elkaar in gesprek gaan over de fotografie.

, de eerste solotentoonstelling van kunstenaar Jasmijn Vermeeren. Vanuit een persoonlijk perspectief belicht Vermeeren het leven met een onzichtbare beperking, fysiek en/of mentaal; een onderwerp dat in dialogen over diversiteit en inclusie vaak onderbelicht blijft. 

 biedt een intieme ervaring die bezoekers uitnodigt om zich te verplaatsen in het dagelijkse bestaan van mensen voor wie dit leven de norm is.

Door middel van fotografie, video en sculpturaal werk reflecteert Vermeeren op haar eigen ervaringen met chronische pijn en de maatschappelijke aannames rond gezondheid en identiteit. Ze identificeert zich als 

: een term die verschillende vormen van beperking omvat, zoals fysieke, mentale, sensorische en leerstoornissen. Vermeeren daagt daarmee normatieve opvattingen over functionaliteit en normaliteit uit. 

 verwelkomt bezoekers in de wereld van de kunstenaar, waar emoties welkom zijn en ruimte wordt geboden voor reflectie, om zo te herontdekken wat het betekent om
