Kom langs op donderdag 17 juli voor de opening van 

 door Ajamu X. Tijdens deze avond onderzoeken we samen met de kunstenaar en gastsprekers J.G. Basdew, JeanPaul Paula en Bete van Meeuwen wat het betekent om te archiveren vanuit Zwarte queer perspectieven. Geen traditioneel panel, maar een ritmisch, gevoelsmatig opgebouwd programma vol ruimte voor ontmoeting, nuance en kwetsbaarheid. 

 zal deze avond een performance tonen die fysiek, geconcentreerd en ritueel van aard is, waarbij het lichaam fungeert als sculpturaal én politiek medium.

, een solotentoonstelling van Co Rentmeester (1936), een van de meest invloedrijke fotografen van de 20e eeuw. Als pionier in zowel de fotojournalistiek als commerciële fotografie heeft Rentmeester ons collectieve visuele geheugen vormgegeven met iconische beelden, waaronder de fameuze Jumpman-foto van Michael Jordan die door Time Magazine werd geselecteerd als een van de 100 meest invloedrijke beelden aller tijden.

Sara Cwynar is een vooraanstaand kunstenaar van haar generatie. Door middel van fotografie, essayistische videowerken, collages, installaties en boeken probeert ze onze huidige beeldcultuur te begrijpen. In haar studio brengt ze beelden en objecten samen om in kaart te brengen hoe we consumeren en hoe deze producten ons leven vormgeven.

In haar werk onderzoekt Cwynar als een antropoloog van haar eigen belevingswereld wat de producten, kleuren en beelden zijn waarmee we ons leven en identiteit constant vormgeven en hoe die veranderen door de tijd heen.

Foam nodigt alle foodlovers en cultuurliefhebbers uit voor een avond gevuld met verhalen en  hapjes, gebaseerd op de tentoonstelling 

Op 8 april openen we de tentoonstelling met een rondleiding gegeven door Ana Núñez Rodríguez. Daarnaast zal kok Andrés (oprichter van Roots, Rice and Beans) op basis van de show de bezoekers voorzien van een drankje en hapjes.

Sofia Borges: Film premiere of The Fossil, the Eye and the Fire

Foam nodigt je uit om deel te nemen aan een serie livestreams om de opening van de tentoonstelling recommended Olympus Fellowship te vieren. Kunstenaars Karla Hiraldo Voleau, Tobias Kruse en Mika Sperling gaan in gesprek met de drie curatoren die hen op hun artistieke weg begeleidde.

Op 1, 2 en 3 juli leiden kunstenaars Karla Hiraldo Voleau (Dominicaanse Republiek, 1992), Tobias Kruse (Duitsland, 1979), en Mika Sperling (Rusland, 1990) je door de tentoonstelling <a href="/nl/museum/programma/recommended-olympus-fellowship-2020">recommended Olympus Fellowship 2020</a>. Speciaal voor deze tentoonstelling maakte de kunstenaars nieuw werk met een breed scala aan onderwerpen, waaronder relaties, liefde, angst, familie en de kracht van de taal.

KARLA HIRALDO VOLEAU Aan het begin van het Olympus Fellowship reisde Karla Hiraldo Voleau naar Japan om jonge mensen van haar leeftijd te ontmoeten. In de serie I Have Nothing to Tell You&nbsp;vroeg ze hen naar hedendaagse liefde en afspraakjes. Hiraldo Voleau onderzoekt hoe culturele tradities nog steeds kunnen beperken terwijl Japan tegelijkertijd de genderrollen ieder jaar een stukje verder deconstrueert. Karla Hiraldo Voleau werd tijdens dit project begeleid door Claartje van Dijk, curator&nbsp;Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam.
TOBIAS KRUSE In zijn project&nbsp;DEPONIE&nbsp;reflecteert Tobias Kruse op zijn onveilige jeugd in Oost-Duitsland die werd gedomineerd door geweld, woede en haat. Hij confronteert zichzelf met zijn herinneringen en onderzoekt parallellen in de sociale sfeer tussen verleden en heden.&nbsp;Tobias Kruse werd tijdens dit project begeleid door Ingo Taubhorn, curator&nbsp;House of Photography / <a href="https://www.deichtorhallen.de/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deichtorhallen Hamburg</a>.
MIKA SPERLING In&nbsp;Mother Tongue analyseert Mika Sperling haar relatie met haar schoonmoeder en de eenzijdige, vaak negatieve blik van de maatschappij op deze band. Nadat ze onlangs zelf moeder is geworden, wijdt Mika Sperling het project aan de dromen, wensen en angsten van haar schoonmoeder. Mika Sperling werd tijdens dit project begeleid door Celina Lunsford, curator <a href="https://www.fffrankfurt.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fotografie Forum Frankfurt</a>.
