Foam Magazine is seeking an editorial intern (starting November 2019, full-time for 6 months)

Foam Magazine is an international photography magazine published three times a year around a specific theme. Each issue contains multiple portfolios printed on carefully considered different kinds of paper, high-grade graphic design, interviews, and opinions by experts in the field of photography and surprising, idiosyncratic editorial choices.

Your internship will focus exclusively on Foam Magazine’s annual Talent Issue. Each year, Foam’s Talent Call attracts the submissions of hundreds of emerging photographers from across the globe, a selection of which will comprise the Talent Issue. The content of this special issue will later form the basis of a travelling exhibition which has, in previous years, been shown in Paris, London, and Brussels. You will work closely with the magazine’s managing editor, providing editorial support in the form of editing text, copywriting, conducting research, contributing ideas and handling day-to-day office tasks. Please note, this is not a design related internship.

  • excellent writing skills
  • exemplary command of English (native speaker or equivalent level)
  • background in humanities
  • affinity with art & photography
  • good organizational skills
  • pro-active attitude
  • an independent approach

The internship is a great opportunity to develop editorial skills, grow your professional network in photography and the publishing industry, obtain practical editorial experience, and learn how to work effectively under the time pressure of the publishing industry.
