In 2020, Philip Montgomery was one of the twenty selected artists for Foam Talent, the annual open call for young photographic talent.

In his series Flash Points, Philip Montgomery closely examines a variety of social issues present in everyday life in his home country, the United States of America.

He combines a documentary, black-and-white photographic approach with a more cinematic aesthetic. The result are scenes that capture everyday Americans in moments of grief, anger, euphoria, fear and relief.
