Arslan

Oğulcan Arslan (1992) describes himself as a driven photographer and a storyteller, and states that his aim is not to know nor to change the world but to propose a new meaning to it through the medium of image. As a son of two migrant parents, he’s also personally interested in discovering and questioning the notions of otherness and borders. 

He lives and works in İstanbul. He graduated from Marmara University Photography Department as a valedictorian in 2020 and as of 2023, is a graduate student at the same department.  

His works have been exhibited at Loft Art Space, Istanbul (2022); ONE Akaretler, Istanbul (2021); Mamut Art Project, Istanbul (2021); BASE, İstanbul (2020); Trieste Photo Days, Poland (2019) and published in GUP (2021); Sarab Mag (2021); PHMuseum (2020); ArtDoc (2020); L’oeil de la Photographie (2020); Discarded (2020); Dodho (2019); Stem (2019); Latterly (2018) and Iz (2017) among many others. 


He is one of the winners of the Helsinki Photo Festival (2021), one of the talents of the Fresh Eyes (2021) and one of the finalists of the ‘Blurring The Lines’ project (2020).  


His first book All The Rivers Flow in the Nuthouse is published by Origini edizioni & Leporello (Rome) in 2020.
