Yıldıran

Cansu Yıldıran (1996) draws from personal experiences to tell non-normative stories and fairy tales through photography and video. The stories often discuss Cansu’s personal curiosities and concerns while drawing inspiration from social movements, history, and everyday life, expanding and gaining layers through in-depth examination.

In 2024, Cansu was selected as one of the 20 artists for Foam Talent. Cansu continues to work in their studio located in Istanbul.

In 2018, Cansu was selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, and in 2022, they were awarded the Women Photograph Project Grants.

Additionally, they achieved great success by winning first place in the Resistance category of the 2021 All Out Photography Award and being shortlisted for the Main Prize of the 2021 PH Museum Photography Grant.

Cansu has exhibited their works in many museums and photography festivals, including Pera Museum, Odunpazarı Modern Museum, Elgiz Museum, and Arles Photography Festival. They have also participated in workshops for photography books, working with famous publishers such as Kazuma Obara and Calin Kruse.

Their works have been featured in prestigious publications such as Visa Pour I’Image Photography Festival, British Journal of Photography, Dazed Magazine, and The Guardian.
