Núñez Rodríguez

Ana Núñez Rodríguez is based between Europe and Latin America. She studied Documentary Photography and Contemporary Creation at IDEP Barcelona, holds a postgraduate degree in Photography from the National University of Colombia and holds a Master degree in Photography and Society from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KABK) in The Hague. She was part of Lighthouse 2020-21, a program for upcoming talents at Fotodok, Utrecht.

Over de tentoonstelling

Door het verzamelen van kleine en grote verhalen, persoonlijk en historisch, feitelijk en fictief, onderzoekt Núñez Rodríguez hoe de aardappel een universum van symbolische informatie over identiteit, overheersing en sociale differentiatie in zich draagt. De vele verhalen die in deze tentoonstelling worden verteld, tonen de bescheiden aardappel als het product en de oorzaak van geweld, hongersnood en migratie over de hele wereld. Maar ze gaan ook over overleven, delen, samenhorigheid en familie. De voortdurende transformatie en aanpassing van de aardappel wordt een metafoor voor menselijke veerkracht, en voor hoe onze identiteit is geworteld in de verhalen die we elkaar vertellen.
