Outside/In: Friso Keuris
On Thursday 19 July photographer Friso Keuris will be at Foam for Outside/In, Foam's programme where guest speakers delve deeper into the stories behind exhibitions at Foam.

ATTENTION: this event is in Dutch

This edition of Outside/In focuses on the works in the exhibition Structures of Identity - Photography from The Walther Collection. After an introduction to the exhibition by curator Kim Knoppers, portrait photographer Friso Keuris will further explore the portraits from the exhibition in relation to his own practice. In particular, the work of portrait photographer August Sander has been a great source of inspiration for Keuris. In addition, he will discuss the way in which he created the project Dutchbat III. This is based on the serial nature that is also reflected in Richard Avedon's portrait series The Family. For this project he made 68 portraits of the former UN battalion who were eyewitnesses of the drama in and around the Srebrenica safe haven.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
