Response Foam Board to Het Parool article of 9 December 2022
Response
The various measures that we as a board have taken in response to the conclusions of the report unfortunately remain underexposed in the article as well as our extensive answers to the questions raised to us by Het Parool. For example, working groups have been formed on a number of central themes including reduction of the workload. In addition, by mid-2021, an employee benefits plan was introduced and an HR officer was appointed. Besides, the focus on diversity and inclusion was strengthened by actively seeking external consultation for specific activities and projects and an internal D&I sounding board group was appointed. Simultaneously, supervision of Foam's then management was intensified.
Like other organizations, Foam is a learning organization that remains committed to continuous improvement in the areas of the way of working, culture and professionalism. We are proud of the team that puts its heart and soul into creating artistically challenging programming for our visitors every day. The successful exhibition of Mous Lamrabat, Foam Talent (including a sold-out edition of Foam Magazine) and the vibrant, well-attended opening of the exhibitions of Paul Kooiker and Bebe Blanco Agterberg are just a few examples.
As always, we take every signal surrounding Foam seriously and will take the time to respond. In the meantime, we trust that with the staff, the support of our relations and under the leadership of Karin van Gilst as interim general director, we can build on a successful future for Foam.
On behalf of the Foam Board,
Jeroen van Ingen, Chairman
