Foam is all about photography. We are an Amsterdam-based cultural organisation operating internationally in the field of photography.
Foam aims to expose the widest possible audience to all facets of contemporary photography through multiple mediums: exhibitions, publications, research, public programmes and educational projects. These take place in our museum in Amsterdam, in print with the award-winning Foam Magazine, online through an upcoming digital platform and at temporary off-site locations around the world.
The new digital platform gives Foam the opportunity to exhibit and contextualise new forms of photography. The digital space opens up wider possibilties of accessibility, and the platform aims to cast a net to reach larger audiences. In a constantly shifting world, the role of museums and photography continues to evolve. Foam aims to remain current and relevant with the introduction of the digital platform.
The Digital Educator develops and produces autonomous educational programs for the digital platform, alongside helping Foam to translate existing educational programs into a digital environment. The Digital Educator understands which tools are needed to reach audiences in the best way and stay connected in the digital world.
This is a new position within Foam and is dynamic in it’s connections to multiple deparments. Coordination with exhibitions, marketing and education departments is central. The Digital Educator is a member of the Digital Platform project team and reports to Foam's Head of Education.
