The Talent Call is the moment for Foam to gain insight into the current state of affairs in photography around the world. With an average of 1500 submissions from over 70 countries we have a clear insight into the new developments, trends and themes in contemporary photography. The editors of Foam Magazine select around 21 portfolios, and devote an issue of the magazine to these talented photographers. Previous Foam Talents are Melinda Gibson, Ina Jang, Alex Prager, Raphaël Dallaporta, Jessica Eaton, Shane Lavalette, Sam Falls, Noémie Goudal, David Benjamin Sherry, Daisuke Yokota, Lucas Blalock, and Peter Puklus, among others.
The Foam Magazine editors select portfolios on the basis of the visual quality, the creative vision and the concept behind the submitted series. The Foam Talent Call is open to all photographers, worldwide, between the ages of 18 and 35. The submission fee is €35. The selected work is published in the Talent issue and promoted in various ways through the international network of Foam Magazine, both online and offline. In recent years, the accompanying traveling exhibition has been on display at highly frequented locations in Amsterdam, Paris, and Dubai, among other cities.
The annual Foam Magazine Talent Issue and the related Talent Program is supported by the Niemeijer Fund.
