Walter Schels (b. 1936, Landschut, Batavia) and Beate Lakotte (b. 1965, Kassel) are a couple who collaborated on the series Life before death, the series that was published in Foam Magazine #17 / Portrait. For this Foam magazine issue Aaron Schuman wrote the articleSuddenly Everything Matters ~ Portraits of the dying. Schuman is an American photographer, editor, lecturer and writer based in the UK.
