Marnix Goossens
Three main themes dominate Marnix Goossens' photography:
nature, portraits and stillives. Most of his images reflect scenes
from nature. Goossens creates detailed images of trees, plants and
landscapes, focusing primarily on floral beauty, inriguing visual
situations and nature as it appears in our human habitat.
Goossens works with a large-format, technical camera, which lends
itself to highly detailed images. He invests a great deal of time
in carefully orchestrating compositions, creating the right depth
of field and scope. This results in stylized, static images rather
than instantaneous snapshots.
All about patience
Almost all of Goossens' photos are as big in print as the
negatives. Due to the time-consuming nature of large-format
cameras, it is almost impossible to make a quick series and select
the best image. For Goossens, it's all about patience and careful
observation.
Foam Editions offers five different images by Goossens. There are
a total of ten limited prints available of each image.
