Nicholas Mirzoeff (United Kingdom) is Professor
of Media Culture and Communication at New York University. His
publications and projects contributed fundamentally to the general
development of Visual Culture as a field of study and a
methodology. He wrote and edited An Introduction to Visual
Culture (2nd ed. 2009) and The Visual Culture Reader
(3rd ed. forthcoming 2012). His very last book just came out:
The Right to Look: A Counterhistory of Visuality
(2011).
